About Andreea Hanganu

Andreea Hanganu used her +8 years of experience in PR and social media in the private and public sectors to start an innovative project meant to promote the importance of digital tools in the public administration. She co-founded Institute for Digital Government with the main goal of contributing to developing the digital capabilities of central and local government, to increase transparency in administration and thus bring citizens closer to the decision-making processes.

The Institute has expanded its activities into supporting Romanian youth with fewer opportunities to gain basic digital skills and increase their opportunities in both the educational as job markets. The Institute started many firsts in Romania, such as setting up an informal network of communicators working in the public sector which facilitates exchanges of best practices and challenges with using digital tools, launching the online social media guide for the public administration or promoting the importance of citizen engagement and digital participation to youth in universities.
